I watched this last night as the culmination of a pursuit of Iain Sinclair videos across the Internet. Two years old but it’s worth a look; he talks with Chris Petit about the interplay of personal / public space as well as the affecting nature of journeys. Some of the footage, particularly of Antony Gormley’s haunting Another Place, is delightful. Odd then, that it seems to have been produced for the Audi channel, so the decaying ironwork figures on Crosby Beach – perhaps mourning the decline of industry in the North West – are neatly contrasted with the buffed and shined Audi A6 that they traverse the countryside in.
